Col M S Jaswal (Retd) is graduate from DAV College, Jalandhar and holds a first class degree in Law (LL.B. (Hons)) from Indore University, having stood fourth in the University. He obtained post graduate degree (LL.M.) in Constitutional Law from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. Commissioned in Infantry on 15 June 1975, he having served in various Regimental and Instructional appointments (Infantry School, Mhow), was transferred to The Judge Advocate General’s Department in 1984. He has held various legal, judicial and instructional appointments at Corps, Command and Army Headquarters. Has attended numerous Courts-martial trials as Prosecutor, Defending Officer and Judge Advocate. He was the First Officer to be posted to the Institute of Military Law on raising at Shimla. After retirement from the Army, he has settled down in Chandimandir and is practicing as an Advocate in Punjab & Haryana High Court and The Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench Chandigarh.
Col M M Sood (Retd) topped the first batch of LL.B. in 1981 from MD University, Rohtak. He was commissioned in the Judge Advocate General’s Department of Indian Army in 1985. During his 32 years of service in the Army’s judicial wing, he served in several important positions at Army Headquarters as well as at different Command and Corps Headquarters. He has also handled numerous crucial cases relating to human rights. Col Sood served as Judge Advocate and as the Prosecution Counsel in innumerable Courts Martial. After retiring from the Indian Army, he worked as Registrar at Armed Forces Tribunal, Chandigarh till November 2023. As a seasoned legal officer with extensive experience in military law, he has contributed significantly to the legal framework of the Armed Forces. He has settled down in Chandigarh and is practising as an Advocate in Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench Chandigarh.
