    About the Book :
The book titled “India’s Trade and Exchange Rate Regimes” covers the long period study on India’s Exchange Rate Regimes and their impact on India’s trade especially from 1835 to 2020 which was broken into various sub-divisions such as the silver standard period (1835-1892), the gold standard period (1870-1913), the inter-war period (1914-1947) and post-independence or Bretton Woods and post Bretton Woods Periods (1948-2020) respectively. In all the periods, the long-run trends, cycles, seasonal variations of exchange rates, exports and imports were studied through econometric models and their relationships were exemplified by using cointegration and vector error correction models including short run and long run causalities and critically suggested some policy considerations which were interconnected with the theories of exchange rates that were included in the introduction in details. Also, the chapter on the determinants of India’s nominal exchange rate during 1960-2020 deserves good policy implications. The book has added some pictures of coins and data in each regime and has compiled a bibliography as well. The book will help the students, researchers and teachers of Economics and the Econometricians.
