    About the Author
    Dr. Debesh Bhowmik (Debes Chandra Bhaumik) has obtained B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. in Economics from Kalyani University (W.B.) in 1971 and 1973 respectively. He was credited Ph.D. degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (W.B.) in 2011. He has written some important books such as, Essays on International Money, Economics of Poverty, The Euro Crisis and International Liquidity Problems, Asian Economic Integration: Feasibility of an Asian Economic Bloc, India and Her Ancient International Trade (with Prof. Raj Kumar Sen), Applications of Econometrics in Economics, Econometric Applications, Studies on Econometric Applications etc. He has also edited four books, namely, The Lightning of Empowerment, Gender Equality, Development and Women Empowerment (with others), Issues on Tribal Development (with Sourav Kumar Das), Developmental Issues of Tribes and International Monetary System : Past, Present and Future. He has written more than 160 articles in reputed national and international journals and in edited volumes. He is a life member of Indian Economic Association, The Indian Econometric Society, Bengal Economic Association, Economic Association of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Economic Association etc. His paper was accepted in International Economic Association in Moscow conference. He was awarded a gold medal from Indian Economic Association in 2006 as the best paper writer. Presently, he is a retired principal.
