The Book
This book, Micro-Motives and Macro-Behaviour of Modinomics, presents a comprehensive examination of Modinomics as an evolving economic paradigm shaping contemporary India. It begins with an introduction that situates the concept within global and domestic policy debates, followed by a section titled Tracking the Footsteps. The book develops a clear analytical architecture to evaluate key policy interventions—such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, incentives and disincentives, and Gati Shakti—highlighting their roles in boosting manufacturing, infrastructure, and supply-chain integration. The book further analyzes structural reforms, including taxation as an effective policy tool, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), employment initiatives and the National Education Policy 2020, assessing their impact on efficiency, inclusion and human capital formation. By aligning macro-economic frameworks with network and complexity theories, the study offers a multi-dimensional interpretative lens. The book concludes with Telescoping the Future, emphasizing the transition from conceptual architecture to rigorous empirical validation to better understand the long-term macro-economic and distributional implications of Modinomics.
